Large, handmade red and gold lacquerware box, possibly a gift or trinket box, in the shape of an eight-petal flower with hand-etched and hand-painted imagery and geometric designs. Origin possibly Chinese, but unverified.Condition: Fair, with extensive chipping along the edges (see photos 10 and 11). Still beautiful with mysterious vintage charm.
